With the season of change upon us, we wanted to share some of the changes Creative Cakes Bakery has undergone since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result of the crisis, many businesses experienced a significant reduction in revenue and staff. Bakeries across America were forced to close their doors permanently. With the community’s support, we were able to remain open. Creative Cakes is proud to have been able to support our employees and their families through this crisis. We ask that you please be patient with our staff. They have been going through this difficult time too and are trying their best to continue to provide you with exceptional customer service!
If you have been in to see us recently, you will have noticed quite the downsize in our space. With the closing of our café in November 2018, the spacious unit we once occupied was no longer necessary. Loyal customers will remember our original storefront in the corner under the clocktower of Rubino’s Plaza, which we again call home. It is a cozy, inviting space…perfect for sharing a cup of Intelligentsia coffee and a sweet treat with a friend!
The circumstances of the pandemic challenged us to find a new way to take orders, and we have updated our technology to better assist us all with this process. Simple cake orders can be placed by phone and requests for more customized cakes can be made by submitting the “Request a Quote” form found on our website creativecakesbakery.com.
We receive the most custom cake inquiries on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Requests are answered in the order they are received. Highly customized cakes typically require 1-2 weeks notice. Our talented cake consultants are excited to help you, but please allow them enough notice so that we are able to fulfill your quote as requested.
Wedding cake consultations have also been streamlined. The typical 45 minute consultation can now be done through Zoom video. Couples getting married can order cake samples for pick up free-of-charge. We recommend picking up the samples before your consultation so that you are able to ask your consultant for their suggestions on pairing our delicious cakes and mousses. In the spirit of the season, we ask you to please consider joining us in supporting our community this holiday by making an in-store donation to our 2021 GIVING TREE! Donation envelope ornaments are be available on the tree for Gigi’s Playhouse, Together We Cope, and the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.
